This room was meant to serve as a guest bedroom and home office, yet the room's closet had become a catch-all storage area for rarely used household items.
AFTER ORGANIZED AT LAST
Any item in the closet that did not serve the room's two main functions was taken out.
BEFORE ORGANIZED AT LAST
Items that remained were neatly organized by category.
AFTER ORGANIZED AT LAST
Through sorting, editing, containing and labeling, ample space was created in this closet so guests could actually use it!
BEFORE ORGANIZED AT LAST
Clothing, bedding and shoes were stuffed into this closet in a disorganized fashion. The Polaroid pictures on the shoe boxes were an extra unnecessary and inefficient step the client had to take in order to find what she needed.
AFTER ORGANIZED AT LAST
The client's clothes were weeded according to the client's current size and style, then organized by color (lightest to darkest). Every item was hung on the same type of hanger to create continuity.
BEFORE ORGANIZED AT LAST
Shoes that the client had not had time to take photos of were piling on the closet floor.
AFTER ORGANIZED AT LAST
Clear shoebox bins were used to store shoes, eliminating the need for the inefficient photo system and effectively decluttering the closet floor.
BEFORE ORGANIZED AT LAST
There was no system in place in this closet to keep clothing and shoes organized. Everything was randomly tossed in.
AFTER ORGANIZED AT LAST
Clothing was weeded according to client's current size and style, and each item was hung on the same type of hanger to create continuity. Non-hanging items were grouped by category and binned, effectively giving every item that remained a "home".
BEFORE ORGANIZED AT LAST
The bedroom and dresser were overflowing with dried flowers, clothing, nick-nacs, papers, jewelry and photos. There were so many items, it was impossible to focus on any one beautiful item and very difficult to find anything in particular.
AFTER ORGANIZED AT LAST
Items on dresser and bed were sorted into groups of like items and edited; only the most important and necessary objects were allowed to remain. Client's clothing collection was weeded and updated, leaving a manageable amount that easily fit into closet and dressers.
